'Star' Brutally Cleans House, Ditches 10 Staffers
In a clearly well-thought-out attempt to make right American Media's $160-million loss last year, Star magazine ditched 10 staffers in their New York offices today. Reportedly among the missing: editor Joe Tirella, film and TV critic Marshall Fine, three photo editors, two reporters, a designer—and former CNN producer and current Star executive editor Jon Auerbach. The state of the office is unsurprisingly being described as "miserable."
