We're hearing that John Swansburg, video enthusiast and deputy editor of the Boston Globe's Ideas section, will be taking the editorial position at Slate that Bryan Curtis vacated for a writing contract in the greener pastures of Play, the Times's quarterly sports magazine. So Slate, long known as the Times' Triple-A affiliate, gets a guy from a Times-owned property to replace a guy who went (mostly) to the Times. We need some kind of flow chart to keep this all straight. Also, we hope Swansburg was smart enough to take the buyout before he left. Who quits the Globe for free?
