Andy Cohen, Bravo's in-house executive blogger, has much to celebrate: Variety is reporting that he has finally made the leap to on-air talent he undoubtedly has been plotting since he typed the first sassy words into his BravoTV.com blog:

Cohen, who serves as senior VP of programming production for the NBC U-owned cabler, has been doing all he can to break free from the confines of suitdom. His latest coup: being tapped for an on-camera role as host of a cast reunion special for Bravo's sophomore smash "The Real Housewives of Orange County."

Should audiences warm to Cohen's trademarked name-droppy, anecdote-spinning, kibbitz-from-the-hip conversational style—and really, why shouldn't they?—we imagine it won't be long before network head Lauren Zalaznick (who, says Variety, senses a "brand in the making") gives Andy his own regular slot on the schedule. We'd suggest not saddling him with a staff of know-it-all producers: Cohen's keen eye for content makes him more than qualified to fill his series with whatever subjects he sees fit—say, an entire hour of apologizing for mistakenly announcing that Richard Dawson is dead, much like in today's post.
