What Is Up With' is a feature that asks the question posed by lazy stand up comedians everywhere about random New York phenomena. Enjoy.

So like, have you noticed this weird thing all the girls say now? They say stuff like, "He is 100% for monogamy," and like, "Oh no, I am 100% for shopping on Sunday!" What the....? We think this is some totally weird Los Angeles phrase that's traveled east. It's weird! But here's how we assume it went down. Lauren Conrad and her Laguna Beach gal-pals totally infected Lindsay Lohan with saying they were "100% for" stuff, and then The Lohan infected former US Weekly west coast editor Ken Baker, and he's the one who brought it to New York when he was dumped at promoted to working on the website for Us. Or! Maybe there was just a mass "100% for" freak-out at Hyde one night and it got overly virulent and Brandon Davis—who's sort of a total up-talker already? You know? We figure he hangs out with up-talking girls all the time?—flew the phrase in for a bad night at Bungalow. Either way, we're not sure if we're super-charmed or wildly irritated. It has a kind of kicky Web 2.0 meets Valley Girl-Terminator thing going on though.
