Hey, Want to Get Made Fun of on the 'Colbert Report'?
Subscribers to the Williamsburg "brooklynbabyhui" (hui? wha?) Yahoo group recently received a communique from the Colbert Report, which is looking to tape a group of moms for an upcoming segment. Despite the producer's earnestness, we have a hard time believing that the show has anything else in mind than to completely mock these moms to death, but perhaps that wouldn't be the worst thing:
Our show, The Colbert Report, is a satirical news program that is partnered with The Daily Show. We are putting together a piece about an At Home Dads support group in Texas and would like to get a little bit of footage and perhaps speak with a similar mothers group in the local area. Just to be clear — we do not need any of these mothers to be "funny"—basically we're just hoping to briefly film a `normal' group meeting. We're hoping to work on this in the next two weeks so if there is a particular meeting that you think might let us attend the beginning or the end of, please let me know.
We sure do hope they find someone. May we suggest one of the Babble bloggers? Preferably one with strong feelings about her offspring.
