HP's new policy head fought to hide Giuliani's Love Nest
Here's Valleywag friend Theo DP with another insight into the histories of Hewlett-Packard's legally beleagured execs and new hires.
In his Congressional Testimony, HP CEO Mark Hurd boasted "we have appointed Bart Schwartz [left], the former head of the criminal division of the U.S. Attorney's Office under Rudy Giuliani [right], to do an assessment of current practices and develop future best practices so that our processes will be without peer."
Guess that sounds better than "we have appointed Bart Schwartz, the former head of the criminal division of the U.S. Attorney's Office under Rudy Giuliani, who later had investigators "grill" hotel employees on Giuliani's behalf over the infamous Rudy's Love Nest story."
Unfeathering Rudy's Love Nest (pdf) has more details on how a PR firm engaged by Schwartz masterfully targeted a NY Daily News reporter, teasing him with an exclusive press leak that defused the incident.
