OMG WTFace! Facebook de-faces UnFaced creator (face)
Remember UnFaced, the tool that let Facebook users see who checked out their profiles and whether they were romantically compatible? Today in "Hey, can they do that?" news, Facebook not only sent a cease-and-desist letter to site creator John Arrow, but they also disabled his Facebook account until he takes his site down.
So, can they do that? Definitely. As the letter notes, Arrow violated the Facebook user agreement by locally storing data that circumvented Facebook's privacy measures. It's lame, but them's the rules. Granted, if Arrow doesn't mind risking a lawsuit he could leave the site up, but we're guessing he minds very much, so get your UnFacing in while you can.
