According to local station Fox 11's website (the broadcast network can't seem to make itself interrupt a partiuclarly riveting episode of Cops), there's a hostage crisis in progress over on Wilshire:

A possible hostage situation is underway at an office building on Wilshire Blvd. A male suspect is holding people hostage with a gun and a pipe. MyFOX LA will keep you posted with full details as they develop.

Of course, there's no information about where the building is located on Wilshire, and site's continuous video feed of the situation (access to which is somewhat confusingly preceded by a jaunty Good Day LA promo which momentarily leads you to believe that Jillian Barberie is one of the hostages) isn't giving too many hints. If you recognize the building, drop us a line. We'll feel a lot better if we know that a frustrated agent isn't responsible for the crisis.

UPDATE: An operative places the building for us: "It's on Wilshire and Highland—'The Johnnie Cochran Building' as it's known because his old law office is there. One block over is the building which houses Billboard, Hollywood Reporter, and Back Stage West. That's about as industry related as it gets. They've shut down the street for a good 3-4 blocks and helicopters keep flying by at an alarmingly close range."

Also, says a commenter: "Had it happened at the HR, we would only hear about it after Variety reported on it Friday." Ouch.
