Great Moments in Journalism: Step Aside, My Friend, And Let Me Show You How To Do It
Now that you people are actually sending some decent submissions to Great Moments in Journalism it would make us cry if you stopped. So don't.
We don't nominate articles based on headlines since reporters never write them; we'd have to have a separate contest for the sad subeditors whose job it is to come up with such sorry stuff as "Mass. town names mass murderess as city symbol." Were we to so do, however, today's nominee would win based on its headline alone: "Underwear trend may be bottoming out." The article is exactly what you think it is, but we love how the writer contacted "a professor at the University of Texas at Austin with expertise in American literature and culture" to ask about saggy pants. That's reporting! Anyway, here's your glimpse at the next Pulitzer winner:
The underwear might be under there, but showing your bottom is behind the times.
