DOG DAYS OF PARK SLOPE

Walkers unleash their pooches on

Entering the park just after dawn.

Padding to the pet pool to paddle,

Canines gather speed, like Cadil-

lacs tooling along the open road

—Watch out, squirrel, watch out, toad!—

Lacking only the Caddie mufflers,

Loud enough to rouse all shufflers.

Din, then din-er, fouls the air

Waking sleeping Slopers near.

Ruff! Woof! Rrrr! Hark:
