Perhaps you've recently had the opportunity to sample the new Justin Timberlake single as it thumped out of an H3 idling nearby—a C+C Music Factory-inspired slice of suckiness entitled "SexyBack." You'll be hearing a lot more from Timberlake as we near the September 12 release date of his not-at-all pretentiously titled record, "FutureSex/LoveSounds," such as a recent interview with Vanity Fair in which he shared some uncensored thoughts on American Idol winner Taylor Hicks:

"People think he looks so normal, and he's so sweet and he's so earnest, but he can't carry a tune in a bucket," Timberlake told Fashion Rocks, a supplement of Vanity Fair.

Timberlake also thinks that Hicks' fame is fragile. "If [Hicks] has any skeletons whatsoever, if God forbid, he's gay, and if all these people in Mississippi who voted for him are like [then he takes on a thick southern accent], 'Oh my god, I voted for a queer!' It's just too much pressure."

It's good to know that Timberlake, an ex-Mousketeer earmarked for fame after being plucked from of a stack of headshots by the chubby hand of Lou Pearlman, is fully prepared to call out Idol's manufactured, telegenic "talent" for what he really is. As for his comments regarding the career-damaging effects of any swishy skeletons that may be cowering in Hicks' closet, we're not sure who should be more offended: his newly liberated, ex-bandmate Lance Bass, or the entire populaton of Mississippi. We'll say Mississippi, since we know Bass's sexuality has little to do with the fact that he has no lasting career of which to speak.
