Per rumors floating last week, former Teen People managing editor Lori Majewski is the new executive editor at People — though no word on whether or not it's a permanent assignment. As of right now, she's just filling the ruby slippers of former executive editor Peter Castro, who last week was appointed managing editor of People en Espa ol. But in the wake of Teen People's death, Majewski very well may be one of those temp-to-perm hires.

So why do you care? Because, in a word, Lori Majewski is AWESOME. Whether she's reportedly slinging back drinks, supposedly clapping her hands at the mention of her beloved Duran Duran, or allegedly offering staffers some Klonopin to get through those nasty closing nights, the woman is a walking mitzvah. If Time Inc. knows what's good for them, they won't let the Klonopin Klapper get away.
