Great Moments in Journalism: Soul Down The Bowl
We return to New York, albeit upstate, for today's Great Moments in Journalism, but, of course, we accept nominations for any qualified candidate on the planet. Send us your nominees so that the world may recognize their genius. After the jump, a piece so good that the kicker ("All I can say is: what a sleaze bucket.") doesn't even merit the nomination.
Today's submission recognizes the genius of Mike Dawson, from Catskills-area periodical The Times Herald-Record. Dawson covers the theft of a wallet, but as you'll see from this lead, the crime is so much greater.
Maybe the man at The Home Depot Friday was buying a new toilet, because he flushed his soul when he swiped a stuffed wallet off the lap of wheelchair-bound Stephen Boyle.
Not much more to say about this one; just let it sink in.
