Britney Spears Exactly As Good An Actress As You'd Hoped

With the widely rumored press conference never having materialized, the world is still waiting on a definitive answer as to whether or not Britney Spears is pregnant with her second child. Spears has her burgeoning acting career to focus on in the meantime, however. As you may recall, a recent appearance on Will & Grace had producers falling all over themselves to find the perfect, not entirely disparaging words of faint praise for their guest star's acting talent, and there were rumors she might even be getting her own show. But according to British tabloid (red flag #1) the Sunday Mirror, Spears' fired (red flag #2) acting coach thinks her stagecraft might not be quite there:
"I can imagine her ruining a televised drama by suddenly staring straight into camera and either winking, shaking her boobs or blowing a bubble of gum. But not all at the same time that would be asking far too much of her.
Of Shakespeare she said: "I know who he is, know he's dead and I don't want any knights-in-armour stuff." And when asked to read from a Harold Pinter play the singer - who rose to fame seven years ago with "Hit Me Baby One More Time" - held up a hand to shut her drama coach up, before scoffing: "Whoever Pinto is, or was."
The acting tutor met similar reluctance after suggesting Britney try monologues by Chekhov ("I'm not goin' on no Star Trek shows!") and Shaw ("You mean like chewin' tabacco?"), and an introduction to the method was greeted with similar skepticism. ("Oh gosh, no. Kev and I tried that and it ain't worked either time.")
