A tipster dropped us this note about the mood at Warner Independent Pictures following the abrupt ouster of president Mark Gill:

Warner Independent Pictures has been prepping the release for A Scanner Darkly. Part of the campaign includes specially made black wristbands imprinted with the words, "DESPAIR" "DESERTION" "DOOM" etc...

Word is that the staff of Warner Independent Pictures are now wearing the black wristbands, (a la Livestrong fame), to convey the corporate mood after Tuesday's upheaval in their division.

[Wednesday] night Mark Gill was spotted wearing one also : it read "DEATH."

It's not quite a stabby penguin, but if this is actually going on, it's a pretty subversive tribute; the WIP Left Behind can always just claim that they're really excited about Richard Linklater's squiggly, animated version of Keanu Reeves, not secretly mourning their exiled leader.
