Today's Page Six gives itself over to fauxteur/current Lindsay Lohan daddy-issue manifestation Brett Ratner's hacky charms, featuring both a story about the director's semi-embarrassing, alleged re-gifting of a blanket to his new ladyfriend, and a blind item asking, "WHICH young hotshot director lost a big superhero movie project because he pulled a gun on one of the producers?", a question answered nearly three years ago in Esquire:

Producer Jon Peters and director Brett Ratner came close to blows at the time Ratner quit Peters' Superman project, Esquire magazine is reporting in its latest issue. According to the magazine, the two ended up in a shouting match over the movie's budget, with Peters later claiming that Ratner threatened him with an armed bodyguard. Ratner was quoted as saying, "I don't need a guard to pull a gun on someone." The dispute apparently arose out of the budget for the film, which Ratner estimated at $225 million, a figure that Peters deemed unacceptably high.

Consider this a collection notice from the Sixies; if Ratner doesn't pony up those level four protection donations, that harmless blind item dredging up three-year-old Superman dirt could quickly escalate to one rivalling their infamously obvious "Which Owen Wilson is a salad-tossing aficionado?" story, and none of us are ready to know exactly what goes on back at the Ratner estate after the couple has worked themselves up with a night of catfighting at the Dime.
