For those of us who actually look forward to our weekly dose of dippiness courtesy of future toxicology report subject Paula Abdul, wonderful news: She has renewed her American Idol contract for three more seasons:

Abdul, who shares judging duties on Fox's hit talent show with Cowell and Randy Jackson, has signed a deal to remain for another three years, the network announced Wednesday.

The contestants "truly inspire and amaze me each week," Abdul said in a statement. "Of course, I also look forward to putting Simon in his place for years to come."

With Simon Cowell having signed a five-season contract back in November, and Randy Jackson recently telling Rolling Stone he's perfectly a'ight where he is, Abdul's news is the final piece of the puzzle to tumble drunkenly into place. We'll rest a little easier knowing that well into 2009, someone will be there to tell Idol's many non-unique, unspecial contestants just how unique and special they are.
