To-Do this weekend: Daddy, what's binary?
It's a laid back weekend — take in a concert, kick back, relax between conferences.
All weekend
Segway Human Transporter: Feel like Larry Page, Steve Jobs, or John Doerr — ride a Segway at the Tech Museum of Innovation. The machine that changed the world (we build cities around it!) is available from 2 to 3 pm. Bonus points if you show up tipsy — it's a great drunk transporter.
Friday
Jim Philips: The Total Mind Audio Technology founder shapes brainwaves with sound. Not to be confused with every club that night, where brainwaves are shaped with sound and alcohol. Mountain View's East West Bookstore, free but reserve.
Video Games Live Concert: Polish off the Game Developers Conference with video game music by Symphony Silicon Valley. San Jose's Civic Auditorium at 8pm, $20-55.
Saturday
Intel Museum - Free Saturday Program: Take the kids to Santa Clara's Intel Museum for an afternoon "binary beading." (Forget C++, get these kids using assembly language from Day 1.) No charge, but you need to reserve a spot.
