Extreme networking can be dangerous to your health
Steve Jurvetson was stoked about the new Valley fad, biking with business buddies out in the mud and muck. This weekend, the VC got to "intensely interface" with a cliff. That's the sort of adventure that thrills Valleyfolk these days.
The NY Times turned the area's extreme sports craze into a trend story. Geeks were proud to be quoted bragging that they get their kicks from windsurfing and swimming across the bay. They wouldn't be caught dead golfing. No, they are "X-treem." At least until some unlucky VC rumbles off Mount Diablo.
