Remember Times film critic Elvis Mitchell? Our obsessions are fleeting at best, but we vaguely recall virtually stalking him as he crawled away from the Times and towards Harvard — or whatever the fuck he was doing. For those of you wondering what 2006 brings to Elvis' doorstep, an interesting press release:

As Black History Month approaches, Infiniti is celebrating by producing its first ever original television program. Scheduled to air on BET on February 9, In Black will present five emerging black artists whose visions represent key attributes of five Infiniti vehicles. The program, moderated by former New York Times film critic Elvis Mitchell, will feature a roundtable discussion on each artist s craft (a designer, a dancer, a film maker, a painter and a music producer).

We'd been wondering where he'd gone — he's been banished to LuxurySedanville [Update: Apparently he's also been banished to Santa Monica radio station KCRW]. Keep reading for the full description of Elvis' totally sad fate.
