Endeavor agent/HuffPo blogging superstar Ari Emanuel finally devotes some post inches (grudgingly, after some bit referencing Bill Clinton's blowjob habit) to the entertainment industry, sharing his latest, awards season inspired frustration with the world:

On a separate front, why do the various awards shows insist on putting "Desperate Housewives" in the comedy category — and, indeed, voting it the best comedy? What is it that is theoretically so funny about those women? I've watched the show, and it never — never — makes me laugh. It's just not funny... which, call me crazy, should be the criteria for labeling something a comedy. Please, Emmy, please, Golden Globes, take this show out of the comedy category.

It's hard to disagree with the sentiment, once the subject of a provocative debate in this very space. But if Emanuel represented DH creator Marc Cherry or his Endeavor agency packaged the show and piles of cash were at stake, not only would he find the Housewives' over-the-top, soapy antics internal-organs-herniatingly hilarious, he'd probably try to threaten the TV Academy or the HFPA into creating a new category for Best Campy Sunday Night Melodrama Featuring Five Women Ready To Chew Each Other's Faces Off Should They Ever Encounter One Another In The Wardrobe Trailer.
