Lost star Naveen Andrews was born to an Indian family and raised in South London; at age 16, he ran off with his math teacher, Geraldone Feakins, who bore him a child in 1992; heroin and alcohol addiction in his 20s nearly killed him, only to see the actor sober up, land on a hit American TV series, and live happily ever after with the much older love of his life, girlfriend Barbara Hershey. Andrews appeared to have finally found some stability in his life. Only, not so much:

Naveen Andrews, who plays Iraqi soldier Sayid on the hit show "Lost," has acknowledged that he fathered a child while briefly separated from his longtime girlfriend.

Andrews' publicist said that Andrews and actress
Barbara Hershey were separated for a "brief period" last year, during which Andrews had an encounter with another woman. He recently learned that he is the father of her baby boy.

"I have every intention of assuming appropriate responsibility for the child," Andrews said Friday in a statement released to The Associated Press.

The report offers no details about the other woman, leaving our imaginations to run wild: Perhaps it all began on a warm Hawaiian evening at local hotspot Poibar with his Lost co-stars, happy hour enthusiasts Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros. After eleven rounds of flaming Blue Cura ao shots and a messy match of strip trivia, the women gather their underthings, rifle through their purses for their valet stubbs, and stumble off. Andrews is left alone, tipsy, and vulnerable to wiles of his grinning bartender, a 300 lb. island woman named Ilelanaka. One evening of animal passion and nine months later, Andrews gets a fateful call.
