Bad news for Queens commuters: The Transit Workers Union strike has officially shut down the Jamaica and Triboro bus line, leaving thousands of little old Greek and Italian ladies with no choice but to totter in the cold. If the Union and the MTA fail to reach an agreement by midnight tonight, Union president Roger Toussaint says city transportation will face a "complete shutdown."

If this actually happens, it'll be the first time since an 11-day transportation strike in 1980. Honestly, we've no idea what to expect. Either the sidewalks will be overrun with power suits and bright white Sauconys, or the streets will resemble some sort of bicycle death derby with pantyhose. That is, assuming you go into the office at all — and that depends on whether or not you consider yourself, you know, a total slave drone with microscopic balls.
