The good news: The subways are running.

The bad news: You have to get to work on time.

The detailed news: After failing to reach an agreement, the Transportation Workers Union will begin a pseudo-strike against two private, MTA-operated bus lines (Triboro and Jamaica, which doesn't really affect pretty Manhattanites). The union is willing to continue talks, but in the meantime the strike will extend to other MTA properties. No details on what/where/when, but you'll likely know when an angry transit worker pushes you out of a moving subway car.

The important news: You'll have an entire weekend to admire every network's nifty "MTA Running" perma-logos. There's nothing quite so comforting as cheap graphic design.
