The clock is nearing noon, meaning that there's just 12 hours left for the MTA and the Transport Workers Union to come to an agreement and prevent a big nasty strike that would shut down most of the city's public transportation and effectively fuck up your workday commute. Local businesses are prepared, however — according to reports, "One advertising agency provided its workers with vouchers to buy new sneakers."

Um, wha? The subway's down and your bus is dead, so buy some new trainers?! Oh, wait, you commute from the Bronx? Then BUY TWO PAIRS!

Ack. We simply have to know what jackassed agency is behind this genius plan, and no doubt one of you out there knows the answer. Please do tell, so we can mock such earnestly misguided efforts.

Update: A reader informs us that Maloney & Fox is the agency in question. Hip guerilla marketers do seem like the types to give you a Puma coupon and act like it'll help.
UpdateUpdate: A Maloney & Fox employee says they're not rolling in vouchers. So, like, we have no idea.
