Buried deep within a hard-hitting NY Times Style Magazine profile of current Woody Allen muse Scarlett Johansson's shopping habits is this little nugget, which in its own small, delightful way revives the highly entertaining post-The Island feud between one of America's best-dressed fauxteurs and his onetime star:

Last year, Johansson bought herself a Chihuahua and was showered in dog gifts. "On the set of 'The Island,"' Johansson said as she spread mustard on her burger, "Ewan McGregor" - her co-star - "gave me coats and collars and lots of dog toys." Michael Bay, the film's director, has enormous dogs. "He needs them," she said. "He has a lot of enemies." Did Bay give her any gifts? Johansson laughed but politely did not answer.

We expect a speedy retaliation from the prideful Bay, who certainly won't let this slight go unpunished. Johansson shouldn't be surprised to be awakened by the terrifying sound of a barely street-legal Ferrari doing donuts outside her window, which then speeds off into the night, leaving her only with unanswered questions and the pungent odor of scorched Pirelli tires, the unmistakable scent of revenge served piping hot.
