14-Year-Old Will Be Charged as an Adult for Allegedly Throwing Rocks at Police Outside a Trump Rally

By now it should be clear: Donald Trump is bad news for kids.
On Wednesday, 14-year-old Marcus Griego was charged with aggravated battery on a police officer, a third degree felony, for allegedly throwing a rock at cops during a riot that broke out during a Trump rally in Albuquerque last week, KRQE News reports. The teenager has since been charged with a second aggravated battery felony count. Two other people have also been arrested in connection to the riot.
Albuquerque Police spokesperson Celina Espinoza told ABC News, “The commander actually witnessed Marcus throw a rock directly and hit the sergeant that was standing next to him.” The ADP has yet to report evidence of Griego’s crime aside from a picture of the Griego wearing a Superman t-shirt, allegedly taken after he threw the rocks.
The District Attorney said they will prosecute Griego an adult, a decision Griego’s lawyer called an “overreaction.” The lawyer told ABC News that Grriego went to the Trump rally but has denied throwing rocks.
Griego is not the first teenager to face charges arising from Trump rally incidents, but his are particularly harsh.
According to ABC News, Griego is being held at a juvenile detention center and has no criminal record.
