After a momentary lapse of gossip rag baby-whoring reason, Britney Spears has finally come to her senses and given the go ahead to People to print photos of her with newborn son Sean Preston on their cover. Proud father Kevin Federline is pictured too, his cornrows pulled extra tight, resulting in a convincing simulation of actual smiling:

Spears says she's "ecstatic" about being a mom and most enjoys "taking an afternoon nap in bed" with her 9-week-old son.

Photos of Spears, Federline and their baby were published online last month, but were taken down within hours after Spears' record label, Jive Records, issued a statement threatening legal action.

The photos were allegedly stolen from a private photo session. The photos in People magazine are from that shoot, making them over a month old.

With the long overdue photos now in the public domain, and reports that Britney and Kevin have been carting baby Sean along on their late night, club-hopping escapades, we can only conclude that just nine weeks into parenthood, Britney has already gotten over her 'protective mom' phase. That's impressive! Gwyneth Paltrow, for example, still won't take 18-month old daughter Apple into a public restroom, and insists guests in her home go barefoot. Britney, on the other hand, has no fear of public restrooms, though she does have her own, misguided version of the barefoot rule..
