Take a moment, please, to behold the glory of today's New York Post, which declares the possibility Britney Spears starring in Broadway's Sweet Charity to be front-page "news."

Now, don't get caught up on the oddity of this maybe-gossip, not-exactly-even-new item making its covergirl debut. It's the Post, it's the day before Thanksgiving, and standards hold nary a candle to stuffing. Something MIGHT happen? THROW IT ON PAGE ONE!

But the photo? Come on, gang. We know it's amusing to look at, but the picture is from August 2002. If you're trying to show that Britney would be qualified to play Charity's lead whore, surely there are equally illustrative photos taken as recently as last week.
