It's the $64,000 question: How much severance did Judy Miller get from the Times? Today's Page Six carries the first published speculation on the matter, saying "guesses range as high as $3 million." The specifics:

One source says Miller was paid three years salary in severance, plus three years as a bonus, plus Times health benefits for the rest of her life. "Three million dollars sounds high, but it's definitely seven figures," says another source, who speculates Miller signed an ironclad confidentiality clause that will preclude her from trashing the Times in a memoir.

Eighty-five days in prison suddenly become much less onerous when you realize they were worth $35,294 each. Anyone want to subpoena us? Please?
