Matt Lawton has tested positive for steroids, Newsday has confirmed. Major League Baseball is expected to make an announcement later today.

The positive test for Lawton, who was traded to the Yankees on Aug. 28, was first reported by Deadspin.com.

Ha! See that? In that attribution, one of the region's better sports sections confused breaking-sports-news powerhouse ESPN.com for some little, startup, thinks-it's-funny blog. Hilarious! Oh. Wait. What? Beloved Gawker Media brother Deadspin.com really did break that news? Broke, as in, before anyone else? You mean we're supposed to do more than just make fun of other people's reporting?
