In today's glorious episode: Jay Leno rips on Jeff Zucker; Zach Braff, Matthew Fox, Lauren Graham, and a celebrity cast of thousands at Green Day's Wiltern show; Julianne Moore, Elijah Wood, and Jack Osbourne; Lindsay Lohan; Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Richie, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Kirsten Dunst; Jake Gyllenhaal and Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth; Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson; Christina Aguilera and Rick Hilton; Mark Ruffalo; Paul Rudd; Steven Soderbergh, Jules Asner, and Jon Gordon; Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell, Dakota Fanning, Kris Kristofferson, and Oliver Hudson; Ashley Olsen; Jeffrey Tambor, Emmy Rossum, and Garry Shandling; Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani; Michael Madsen; Cedric the Entertainer; Jason Bateman; Jason Bateman, Andy Dick, and Gulager!; Courtney Thorne-Smith; Michael Rappaport; Sara Gilbert; Simon Cowell; Brooke Burns; Teller; Lindsey Buckingham.

· Saw Jay Leno coming out of a Burbank bookstore in the Media District followed by a dude with a cellphone to his ear. I've seen Leno several times in the Valley, and he's always dressed the same - blue work shirt and jeans. The other dude talked into his cellphone as Leno signed a couple autographs. I was getting in my car next to his convertible antique-something, just as a homeless guy with a shopping cart and dog passed by, and Leno said, to his friend or to no one, "Jeff Zucker in six months." Why isn't he that funny in his monologue?

· It's been a while since I took any orders from Bolivian marching powder, but I seem to recall it resulting in things like Zach Braff's act at Green Day's "secret" show at the Wiltern. He was there with some dude that I recognized from sit-com guest star ubiquity (you know, that guy) and was ready to raawwwk from atop his perch in the VIP section. He caught the attention of the crowd several times with ostentatious air guitar and drumming on his hoodie. At one point a loud "woo" from Dr. Dorian put all eyes on him and scored a dour look from Mike Dirnt for the theft of thunder. Was Captain Indie Rock mocking us capitalist-core punkers or has indie rock's messiah fallen from grace? Tune in next time.

· Seen at the Green Day show last night....Tim from Rancid wearing enough spikes to remind everyone that he is (was) in a punk band too. Davey from AFI trying to convince the 16 year old goth kids that he likes chicks. Lauren Graham from Gilmore Girls talking surprisingly slow and actually hanging out with the common folk. Barry Watson from 7th Heaven hanging with a smokin hot chick and leaving before Green Day finished. Poser. Matthew Fox from Lost. He was wearing a white t-shirt. Zach Braff from Scrubs being all "I put together a soundtrack, so I like music too."

· Some of LA's finest came to see Green Day deliver a track by track performance of their multi-platinum album, American Idiot. Zach Braff (Scrubs and Garden State), Derek of Sum 41 w/o punk GF Avril, Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls), Matthew Fox (Lost), Hayley Duff, Serena Williams w/o a weave and the red hooded man who tormented David in the last few episodes of Six Feet Under. Before catching a few Green Day tunes - Hayley and a pal went to Denny's to use the toilet. No white residue was left on the toilet lid according to an eye witness. Many of the stars were upstairs in the balcony tossing back a few before Billy Joe and crew cranked out the tunes but no stories of debauchery of celebs gone wild. All in all it was quite a tame night at the Wiltern. The only explosive behavior was the sound of occasional pyrotechnics going off during Green Day's set.

· While entertaining family around Santa Monica this week, spotted a very elegant, black suited Julianne Moore at the Rose cafe with two industry types and a script on the table titled 'Sophia' 10/3. The newishly 'healthy' Jack Osbourne sharing a stack ofchilli cheese fries with four pals at Johnnie Rockets, 3rd St. promenade, 10/7 and favourite hobbit Elijah Wood bowling at Bay Lanes Alley with two boy pals 10/10, average score.

· · lindsay lohan at Fred Segal sale friday (10/7) at 6.45. shorter and more blond than I expected, complained to a sales person that it was crowded, then looked at cocktail dresses. Saw tons of paparazzi outside waiting for her. - CNN ran news of her fender bender on the scrolling text during the bush speech, which I thought was giving her a little too much importance.

· Was at the Viper Room last night (10/6), Thursday seeing a great band, called Ringside. Went to use the ladies room and waited for almost ten minutes, while I could hear two girls (I could also see one very obnoxious pair of gold pumps under the door) chatting away in the stall together. There was an awful lot of commotion going on in there, rumaging through purses, then finally, the sound of one snort, then another, a handoff, then two more snorts. After waiting patiently for what seemed like an eternity... who should exit the cramped stall (together), but Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Ritchie. Homegirls looked WEATHERED, to say the least. It was only a few years ago that I was "that girl" in the stall with my girlfriend, no concept of time or shame.. while innocent people are waiting in line trying not to pee in their pants! Side note, also saw Kirsten Dunst and Jake Gyllenhaal there together, sitting in a booth, singing along to every song.

· Thurs 10/6 - While walking from my office to Sprinkles Cupakes at around 2pm, first saw Omarosa sitting outside at that restaurant on the NW corner of Camden and Brighton and three seconds later, saw Jake Gyllenhaal squatting on the sidewalk, next to said restaurant, talking on his phone. He was wearing a baseball cap and big black sunglasses. Exciting, I know.

· At the Inara George/Idylwild concert at the El Rey last Friday, my boyfriend spotted Seth & Summer from The O.C. ("What are their real names again?" he said to me over the phone.) [Ed note—Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson. Like, duh?] They were into Inara, but apparently left right after her set. So my boyfriend was waiting next to them at the valet line. Apparently Summer was very cold and Seth basically held her inside his gray hoodie, somewhat like those penguin dads held baby penguins under their belly flaps in "March of the Penguins." Then they rushed into their BMW SUV. "Did they look good?" I asked him. "She was wearing too much make-up," he said. Then he added, "They don't seem like they have to try to act very much on 'The O.C.' They were exactly like their characters."

· Friday night at the Ivy: While Christina Aguilera sat quietly in a corner with her party, another Ivy guest was raising Cain outside the bathrooms. "I hate these damn bathrooms! Who the hell is in there? A woman, again?!" Rick Hilton growled angrily as he started kicking the bathroom door to the men's room. "What the hell are they doing in there? Taking a shower or redecorating?!" Maybe it's better he won't be paying for any upcoming nuptials soon.

· Mark Ruffalo was on my San Francisco to Burbank flight on Sunday, October 3rd. First class, naturally. He was much shorter than I would've expected (aren't they all?) and his hair was longer than I've seen it before. He was upbeat and chatty with his male traveling companion. After the flight, we waited for nearly 45 minutes for our luggage to come out, and he joked with a group of friends who must have been there to pick him up - no hint of any star attitude whatsoever. No one seemed to recognize him.

· Adorable Paul Rudd, wearing a messily tucked-in shirt, a pair of sagging beige cords and peek-a-boo boxers, drinking a Red Stripe with a couple guys at the new trendo Magnolia on Sunset near Vine last night (10/11).

· saw Steven Soderbergh and Jules Asner Saturday night at il Sole..they got there early and shared a bottle of wine before being joined by another couple. She's beyond hot and they laughed a lot and held hands. v. sweet. My d-girl date said the guy that joined them was the new guy who is he new pres of Universal (Jon Gordon)? He was so-so looking and his
wife was uber hot as well...what's with these nerdy guys and hot women? Oh yeah, money.

· [Ed.note—While Turkey is waaay out of the PW region, it's f'ing Busey in Istanbul. We'll allow it.] I saw Gary Busey, the poster child for motorcycle helmet use, last Friday outside the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, Turkey. Then again at the Topkapi Palace, enjoying the sights like any other tourist. His face has taken quite a beating in all those accidents.

· Just got back from the premiere of of Dreamer, the new horse movie starring Dakota Fanning. Man, what isn't she in nowadays? Spotted Goldie Hawn, wearing some sort of tapestry/shirt concotion. Kurt Russell was with her, since well, it is his movie. And Oliver "I wish I could get on a t.v. show that would last more then a season" Hudson, as well. No Kate. Also saw Kris Kristofferson and his wife, and Dakota herself. She's cute.

· So, on Thursday night, I was out with this really cute boy. It was our second date. We had dinner, and then afterwards we wanted to go somewhere for a drink. I suggested The Dime, mainly because it was right around the corner from where we were. So, there we are, chilling in a corner booth, when the cocktail waitress comes over and informs us that our booth was reserved, despite the fact that there are several open tables. She wanted us to slide over, but because we were being all lovey-dovey, we chose another empty booth across the way, thinking to ourselves, "Who knew you could reserve a booth a dive like The Dime?" We get back to being all lovey-dovey when my date says, "Oh, look at who made 'the reservation'! It's an Olsen Twin!" Sure enough, I look over and notice Ashely "The Blonde" Olsen with her cute nebbishy boy toy. They were drinking bottles of water and Ashley was smoking. Apparently, just as Los Angeles driving laws don't apply to Lohans, Los Angeles smoking laws don't apply to Olsens! They left not ten minutes later. I don't know which I was more excited about — My First Official Olsen Twin Sighting, or the fact that My Date recognized her and was excited, too! Can you say Total Boyfriend Potential?

· Sat 9/29 saw Jeffrey Tambor trying on pants at Banana Republic on Beverly Drive. Looks very slim, almost gaunt. Hey now!! Friday 10/7 saw Emmy Rossum at Houston's in Century City. No Topher Grace to be found, but she is really pretty in person. And my favorite!! Garry Shandling works out at my gym, which is a hot bed of celebrity sightings. Always shows up in basketball shorts that hang waaaaaaaay too low for a man his age, shoes with no laces (??) and a baseball cap. But the best is the circle tattoo on the back of his neck. So bizarre. Looks like a shout out to Oprah.

· on sunday- went to an afternoon movie at the arclight- saw gavin rossdale with qwen stefani. i thought she would look more athletic and cut in person but is tiny skinny as usual- they all are. she was wearing all of her l.a.m.b. gear- sportin her own stuff i guess. also had her shades on inside- so LA! gavin looking absolutley dreamy. man i wish bush was still cool!

· Spotted Michael Madsen + family actually looking at the art (unlike most there) at MOCA Saturday night. He was suprising un-puffy, much taller and less red than expected. We figured it was better not to interrupt the art appreciation lesson he was giving to the child he was holding to express our sadness over the Vengeance Unlimited's cancellation.

· Who said there's no place to party after 2AM in LA? Saw Cedric the Entertainer hanging out with a male friend at the Henson Studios on La Brea on Friday during an after-hours club/party being held there. He seemed cool and contained, just taking in the scene of would-be Hollywood types and hot young things.

· saw Jason Bateman, wearing a baseball cap, talking to a male friend and red-headed female companion in the lobby of the Grove, Sat. (10/8), 5 pm. Nothing sassy happening, just talking about movies.

· Oops! I forgot about seeing Andy Dick at the bar at Lucques in last week's B-List sighting roundup. Saturday night (10/08) at the Grove: Jason Bateman in baseball cap and other casual wear (consistent with previous PW reports) chatting with someone off to the side in the movie theater lobby. I wasn't close enough to tell but almost looked like said friend could've been Maeby Fünke. But probably not. A few hours later, everybody's favorite uncalibrated-to-the-cutthroat-ways-of-Hollwood -yet-allegedly-brilliant-rolypoly-director John Gulager of "Project Greenlight 3"/Feast stepped off the elevator as we got on.

· I saw Courtney Thorne-Smith at Burke Williams wearing the requisite fluffy robe and being nice and smiling and all. She'll always be Allison for me. Or Georgia. Or Harry Hamlin's Laker Girl girlfriend on LA Law. But not the wife of Jim Belushi. Never that.

· Fox's The War At Home must be paying those bills. I saw Michael Rappaport in line at the Best Buy in West Hollywood purchasing a very nice, high end, Direct TV DVR. My buddy saw him a few weeks ago at the Bed, Bath and Beyond at Sunset and Vine getting some new sheets. I bet his place is a great place to hang out for Monday Night Football!

· You know what I did not want to see at brunch on Sunday morning at the Alcove? Sara Gilbert whipping her boob out to breast feed her (adorable) baby. But I did. I still managed to keep my omelette down.

· not the world's most thrilling sighting, but i saw simon cowell at urth caffe on melrose on saturday afternoon, having lunch with three women. he seemed polite and charming, even in the face of the world's slowest-moving kitchen. god i hate that place. he also has the biggest head i think i've ever seen, just about the size of a buick.

· Saw Brooke Burns (North Shore, Dog Eat Dog, ex-Bruce Willis accessory) at the AMC 16 in Burbank last Sunday. She was looking happy, thin, no makeup, arm in arm with some huge XFL type, walking down the hall after a movie. There was no fanfare, but she spotted me recognizing her, and lowered her head so her dirty blond, ill-attended tresses could cover her pseudo-famous visage.

· last monday (10/3), Teller (he of Penn AND Teller) sitting in first class on a late night America West flight. He was heading from Vegas to LA, no doubt to do something in silence.

· Something compelled me to go to the Grove today (10/7) and buy tickets for a matinee showing of "In Her Shoes", (c'mon, it's Curtis Hanson). It was there I spotted Lindsey Buckingham and a lovely young blond lass in pigtails, (his wife I believe), in line ahead of me. A sheer honest to goodness Mac Attack spurred up inside my body, mind and soul and I gasped and giggled and jumped up and down a bit. (I like 'em crazy). He looked trim and hip (!) and did not seem to notice the super-fan (me) drooling 50 feet away. Nobody else seemed aware he was there. Curious to know which flick he and his bride came for, I waited to see which theater they would select and was suprised somehow to see them saunter through the door to "Good Night and Good Luck". (I took him for a Cronenberg man). Although I wanted to sit next to them and feel the "love" for a lucky couple of hours, I was a good girl and went as scheduled to my Shirley McClaine 3 tissue weepfest."
