We don't particularly want to jump back into the JT LeRoy fray, but the New York Magazine piece on him is an interesting read, be you critic of JT or dedicated defender. This paragraph, though, deserves highlighting:

This is the most extraordinary and lucid book I

It's comforting to know that LeRoy, real or no, is not above having his friends/alter egos bump up the Amazon rankings. Even androgynous teenage hustlers of ambiguous origin gotta eat.
