Jann Wenner Really Couldn't Care Less About Some Stupid Novel
So we've been perusing the content over at our media gossip cousin Jossip's house lately, and we couldn't help but notice a fixation with Wenner Media that may, truthfully, put our Conde Nastiness to shame. Not that Wenner's Us Weekly and Rolling Stone aren't worthy of obsession, but, uh, they're not. It's Men's Journal that's the real gem of Jann Wenner's crown. But that isn't what's the problem, anyhow.
What's bugging us: In the past 24 hours or so, Jossip has had not one, but two items about some South Beach tell-all from Wenner employee Gwen Cooper, which is allegedly causing quite a "scandal" around the office. Maybe we're extra stupid today, but we just don't get what the fuss is about. Gwen Cooper, as we understand it, handles the Power Point presentations (that is, when she's not calling in sick). She wrote a book about the South Beach party scene, the sordid side of which really isn't all that secret. And while the book's narrator may work at Wenner, the book is not about Wenner. It's about Miami, from where Cooper hails.
So why does this matter? Why are "tabloids hovering?" We're guessing they aren't, actually, since Cooper reportedly hasn't sold the damn thing and has thus resorted to hyping it as some scandal around the blogosphere. As for that Wenner Media "shitstorm" Jossip is talking about? The only diarrhea we're seeing right now is on the monitor.
