In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, American Tragedy, one question burns a bit more brightly than the rest: Is New Orleans' David Duke, former KKK leader and failed politician, doing all right? Beloved HuffPoster and UK Maxim editor Greg Gutfeld simply couldn't sleep at night unless he knew that his favorite white supremacist was safe, so he used his HuffPo soapbox for good (instead of evil) and expressed his concerns. Lo and behold, Duke responded to Gutfeld in the comments section:

Unfortunately, preliminary reports did not fully reflect the damage to my home and office in the Mandeville-Covington Area of New Orleans.

Information is still rather spotty as there is no phone service of any kind into the area, no electricity, and no Internet. A huge tree penetrated the roof of my house in Mandeville and with the torrential rains, heavy water damage is expected as well as other physical damage. The office suffered damage from three huge trees (and by huge I mean with a trunk diameter of at least 5 feet) that were blown over onto the dwelling. These trees are very tall and stout old pines that have been there for generations! Finally, my old family home in New Orleans is completely under water and will be a total loss.

But what of the production of the Duke Report, as well as his other Jew-hating work? After the jump, Duke's full response and his continued celebration of "our heritage."

I am in Eastern Europe but will have to interrupt my work and teaching here and return home and do my best to get my grim personal circumstances in order and to get the Duke Report and EURO back into production. It will be a daunting, heartbreaking, and arduous task to say the least.

Our volunteers will work diligently to get out the DVDs that have already been ordered. Other orders will be processed and driven the 150 miles to the still-functioning postal facilities. I expect these to go out by the middle of next week at the latest. Please be patient. But right now, police are not allowing anyone to even enter the parish (county).

With our printer also being out of commission, we will have to find an alternative source to print the Duke Report. Unfortnunately, even before this storm, our financial situation was very difficult and now it seems almost impossible. Although mail sent to us at the very time of the storm could have been destroyed in the melee and flooding, any mail that you NOW send addressed to the Mandeville, LA Post Office should get through to us. Since there is no electricity and everyone is working under extremely difficult emergency conditions, postal service may be slow.

The city of New Orleans is like a war torn country right now. There is no electricity, no running water, massive flooding, toilets are not working, and sewage is backing up. Corpses from cemetaries, as well as the storm s tragic casualties and toxic wastes have contaminated the water supply. Massive looting continues to ravage the city. Unchecked violence and stark barbarity abound.

It is like something out of a nightmare. The thought of all this, combined with the racial realities of which we are so aware, makes one s skin crawl.

Please don t hesitate to write and send your support because we have never needed it more direly than right now. It will be probably be impossible to send you the Duke Report and updates for a few weeks, or even a letter asking for your help. We must rely almost entirely on support from you, our Internet readers. Without your help and support, I can tell you that we will not make it through this crisis without our entire work being terribly curtailed and crippled.

One thing I can tell you is that no matter what happens, I will not now or ever give up this struggle for our heritage and freedom.

As most of you know, I have a teaching position in Eastern Europe. My life would be a lot simpler, safer, and a lot more financially secure just teaching and writing and publishing my books. But, my life has not been about taking the easy way and I am not taking the easy way out now. I have continued to tirelessly travel to our Brethren and do my best to awaken, motivate and inspire our people.

Our enemies certainly recognize the good that I am doing and the danger I pose to their plans against our people. This is shown by the recent terrorist bomb attack against us from which, thankfully, our supporters and I were spared.

So much is left to be done.

If you would like to help, the best way is to make a secure credit card donation over the Internet at www.davidduke.com.

Our mortgage payments and bills will not stop in deference to this catastrophe. You are our online lifeline for us to continue this vital work.

I must rely entirely on you, your sense of responsibility, and your generosity.

For Our Heritage and Freedom!

David Duke

PS I may need to make a call for WN s with carpentry,
electrical and other construction experience to come and spend a few days with me in Mandeville and lend a hand in restoring our home and office.

As always, I appreciate everyone s steadfast support and dedication!
