We confess we typically go in for uptown theater. (We like our shows big, musical, and ideally with choreography that at least winks at Bob Fosse.) But we see now that there's a show in the upcoming Fringe Festival seemingly designed just for us: Elements of Style, a one-woman show about copy editing — which alone would be enough to get us there — at, even better, Conde Nast.

We rarely find ourselves moved by a press release, so this one's worth quoting generously:

Learn how to lose 10 pounds in 10 minutes! Find out what he's really thinking in bed! And learn the beauty of well-placed punctuation! Solo performer Wendy Weiner has been a lowly copy editor at publishing titan Cond Nast for the last ten years — and now she wields her red pen onstage, exposing the colorful characters behind the pages of America's favorite magazines.

She had us at "the beauty of well-placed punctuation." Sigh.
