The Cameron Diaz "Sexy" Photos Trial: Forged Signatures, Forgotten Movies
With the celebrity jurisprudence spotlight being hogged so mercilessly by Colin Farrell's efforts to keep the public from watching him engage in videotaped sex acts, we momentarily lost sight of Cameron Diaz's efforts to keep the public from seeing pictures of her 19-year-old, pre-fame breasts. Even with the nation's attention diverted elsewhere, the wheels of justice keep turning, as handwriting experts have determined that a release form supposedly signed by Diaz was forged:
Two forensic experts have testified that a signature on a model release form involving topless photos of Cameron Diaz appeared to be forged, using an autographed publicity photo of the actress.[...]
Forensic document examiner Bruce Greenwood, who has analyzed copies of Diaz's writings, testified Monday that the signature on the release form appeared to be forged. He also testified that the signature on the publicity photo of Diaz and "Feeling Minnesota" co-star Keanu Reeves was a fake.
Greenwood said he noted certain letters in Diaz's name were "slanted completely different" from the handwriting samples that he had received from her.
When asked to provide further insight into the forensic process that detected the obvious forgery, the expert continued, "Anyone who's this concerned about the effect that topless photographs from thirteen years ago might have on her career certainly wouldn't want to remind anyone of the humiliation of receiving second billing to Keanu Reeves."
