What we're wondering is, what is Janice Min running for? Maybe she has Congressional aspirations? Or seeks sainthood? Or perhaps she just really, really wants quick entrance into ASME's Magazine Editors' Hall of Fame.

Because here's the thing: The Us Weekly editor is already loved loved loved by her staff, mostly just for not being Bonnie Fuller. But now, reports the Observer's Media Mob, she's refusing to sign her new, fat contract — even after the old one expired last week — because she's holding out to get more perks for the staff. She's demanding meals for writers and editors forced to work on holidays. She wants a few open positions filled. And, dammit, she wants people who work past 9 to get comped cab rides home. And if she can't get that for her staff, well, Mr. Wenner, you can keep your $1.2 mil.

For the record, Denton, should you feel so inclined, we'll happily take the money and let Wonkette walk home. We're easy that way.
