'Time' Mag Pseudo-Hip Graffiti Campaign, Week 3

The past three weeks have been sheer torture, haven't they? We mean, watching Time magazine's hired graffiti artists ever-so-slowly advertag a giant billboard on the corner of Houston and Wooster has been an exercise in patience. Now, after three weeks of slow-mo sanctioned vandalism, Time's swan song fantasy has become a reality, emblazoned with the mag's logo (lest you've been uninformed these past few weeks and thus believed you were appreciating some actual street art).
We've been forcing Intern Caroline to document this experiment in guerrilla marketing; the above images, from left to right, chronicle the project's "progress" (which, from what we can tell, involved adding one or two colors every seven days). And, just in case someone dares to call this an exercise failed advertising, Time has dressed the whole thing up as a thought-provoking issue: Is graffiti art? You can even go to their website and vote on the matter. Unfortunately, there's no vote on whether or not this was a spectacular waste of energy.
