In an effort to achieve a more acceptable level of Jack Nicholson Sexual Verisimilitude, the actor reportedly "rewrote" some of his sex scenes in Martin Scorsese's The Departed to include some of his tools of the trade. From Rush & Molloy:

"Jack suggested using a [prosthetic appendage]," adds the source. "He also wanted to dust the [posterior] of one of the actresses with cocaine. Marty said, 'Go for it!'"

How did Scorsese expect Nicholson to fully invest himself in the scene without dildos and blow? The director was smart to relent and give these small concessions, lest the talent start demanding that the scene include three hookers, full penetration, and an apple pie the size of a waterbed. Nobody wants the box office curse of an NC-17.
