We know that New York State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer is supposed to be the little man's savior, the one who brought big business to its knees, pleading for a death that will never come. (We also hear Spitzer found and protects the Ark of the Covenant.) But we still find his last few days of woe somewhat amusing.

He finally lost a mutual fund case, making him look like a bit of a crazed crusader, and then, Wednesday night, he had The ESPN Arcade Fundraiser. As hilariously detailed in the Times this morning, Spitzer organized a fundraiser for his campaign for governor, and apparently only Alec Baldwin showed up. (And honestly, if there are snacks, that guy will show up anywhere.) Spitzer said he held his fundraiser in the arcade of the ESPNZone because — and we're not kidding here — of a Nascar video game they have there: He really likes it. We guess that if faced with talking to Alec Baldwin or playing a Nascar game, we'd pick the game too.—WL
