As public service to those of you desperate for some Monday morning comedy, we'd like to post a quick follow-up to our (heartbreaking) scoop regarding the existential trauma over at the New York Sun. As reported by the Post, an internal memo listing the names and salaries of expendable employees fell into Gawker's hands as follows:

August Fields, the director of marketing and circulation, blamed the posting on a "hacker" from "out of the company and out of the country" who got into the paper's e-mail system.

How, you're surely asking, did this international criminal "hack" into the system? It was a tricky endeavor — but as soon as the evil rascal (who just happened to be a former staffer) "realized" all Sun employees used their names for BOTH THEIR LOGINS AND THEIR PASSWORDS, the rest was gravy.
