The new Folio: is out (yup, it still exists), and it reports that Reader's Digest (yup, it still exists) will soon be hitting its 1,000th issue.

Reader's Digest will roll out the red carpet for its upcoming August issue, the magazine s 1000th. The 83-year-old magazine is producing a special ridealong, dubbed "Future," which will be sent to a million of its "influential" subscribers. Reader's Digest is also planning a digital version of the issue and party in lower Manhattan in July to ring in what publisher Laura McEwen calls a 3 to 5-year process of "perception blasting."

And we're sure it'll be quite a partycocktails, large-type giveaways (abridged, natch), the Glenn Miller Orchestraand all over by 5, so we can still catch the early-bird at Applebee's! JO
