Maer Does Miami

Is it really a coincidence that Maer Roshan and Jessicagawker both left town, heading south, simultaneously? Hoping that the precocious pair were celebrating Passover by playing hide the matzoh in some South Beach hideaway (and wouldn't that be a scoop), I e-mailed RadarBoy this morning in an attempt to smoke them out. No such luck. Turns out, Maer's got a few nits to pick with Gawker's coverage of the not-launching-this-week-after-all radaronline.com. He e-mails:
The site begins its soft inhouse launch mid-week, when I get back, and should be open to the public ten days later, if all goes according to plan. I don't want to commit to an exact date. As I recall, I told the Times that we were hoping to be up in late April or early May so I'm not sure where Gawker got this specific date. Also, contrary to Gawker's assertion last week we don't have a celebrity blog competing with Arianna's and never did. In fact, Arianna asked me to contribute to hers.
So what's that make Mort Zuckerman? Arianna's consolation prize? —MG
