Man Date Fallout: Jenny 8. Lee, Scourge of 43rd Street Gays?

We've been told that some folks at the Times were none too impressed with The Most Emailed Story Ever, Jenny Eight's treatise on dudes hanging out. (Don't you see? This is what she wants. It's a trap. She loves the attention, yearns for it. Don't give it to her, please. Please stop writing now. Stop. Please. Oh Lord, why can't we stop?)
Besides being offended by the general retardedness of the story — which, among other things, broke the news on a trend known for centuries only as male bonding — the glaringly homophobic aspects of the piece irked both gay and straight Timesmen alike. (And mildly aroused others.) In fact, we've been told a few gays on the staff (and there are a lot of them, of course) wanted to file an official complaint against the story a la the Susan Sontag obit. (As opposed to our unofficial complaint against the really gay Thursday Style section.) A 43rd Street source tells Gawker: "A colleague came up to me and asked: 'I don't know whether I should be offended or not.'" Be offended, be very offended.
And, in further media-crisis news, we've also heard that certain ill-advised publishing companies and movie studios have contacted El Ocho about optioning the concept of Men Are Friends — Tinky-Winky is attached to star!
