Running a big movie studio is not necessarily good enough to gain entrance to the exclusive Jonathan Club. Rush & Molloy report that The Club recently gave The High-Society Heisman to Sony's Amy Pascal and former NY Times Hollywood reporter/husband unit Bernie Weinraub:

The formerly all-male institution, which counted Ronald Reagan among its members, has only recently decided to open its doors to a more diverse crowd. The admissions board is carefully culling the film industry for "clubbable" recruits.

Weinraub and Pascal, a major La-La Land power couple, just weren't up to par, we hear. Numerous Hollywood members were outraged at their rejection.

Since we're so poor that even gazing upon the Jonathan Club's HQ results in a high-intensity pulse of light burning a copy of the Mayflower Compact on our retinas, we're hardly in a position to speculate on what their search for a "more diverse crowd" might mean. Before you start thinking crazy thoughts like Mrs. and Mr. Pascal are too Chosen to be chosen, we're sure The Jonathan is momentarily suffering from a surplus of Amys, nothing more.
