Only Frank Bruni Would Do This Sort Of Thing

If the Times Dining section were going to permutate into anything more absurd, you'd expect Frank Bruni to be behind it. And today, he is, forgoing the culinary reviews and flavorful reflections on godknowswhat to sit down with — brace yourselves — 80's fat "before-Kirstie" actress Delta Burke:
Paying more attention to physical hunger than psychological need, [Burke] started eating less and dropping weight, about 5 to 10 pounds a year.
A diagnosis of diabetes led to even greater discipline about her diet, which was suddenly a matter of health, not vanity. Now, she said, she nibbles fruit throughout the day, has a bowl of matzo ball soup for lunch and some ham and cheese for dinner.
Once a week, she said, she allows herself a burger and fries, as she did at lunch. But she ate perhaps a quarter of the burger, in tiny bites.
You've been wanting to know about this so badly, you didn't even realize it.
