It's true that Donald Zagoria was one of the independent writers whose perceptions about China were far more accurate than the C.I.A.'s. But it was Allen Whiting who correctly predicted China's willingness to improve relations with the United States in the early 70's.

G-o-o-o-ong! Boi-oi-oing! We'd roll the laugh track if anyone actually knew what the hell he was talking about. Or cared.
