In today's New York Observer 'Off the Record' column, Gabriel Sherman reports on new Esquire design director David Curcurito (second item):
Mr. Curcurito said he hopes to bring some other new names to the pages of Esquire. He would rather use unknown photographers, he said, than have to wrangle the industry s big names into the magazine.
Sometimes working with prima-donna photographers just sucks, he said. I d rather not deal with the attitude when there are 100 other people out there that are just clawing their way up the ladder.
