The New York Post works itself into a predictable lather over The New York Daily News' $100,000 Scratch-N-Match mistake.

As Leonard Greene and Dan Kadison report:

The Daily News claims in all its promotional material that the game is as easy as 1, 2, 3. But for scores of people who thought they'd won $100,000, and for the hundreds more who thought they'd won $10,000, the contest had become almost as complicated as getting through to the Daily News switchboard.

"I went to bed $100,000 richer, and it was taken away just like that," said Monica Braggs, who wasted no time boasting about her prize. Braggs, a Harlem catering-company owner, even booked a trip to Disney World for her family, including her 85-year-old mother and 11-year-old grandson.

"I'm disheartened," she said. "How can you trust them again? I can't."

Bastards! We know what it's like when you believe in a newspaper with all your heart and they turn out to be full of errors and lies. We wanted Kerry to pick Gephardt more than anything. We'll never trust The Post again.
